What is Reserve Price ?

Monday, September 6th, 2010 at 7:59 am

Reserve Price

Some listings have a reserve price (that is, a hidden minimum price), on the offered item.

How it works:

1. A reserve price is the minimum price a stock lot seller is willing to accept for the item.

2. Reserve price is hidden to the bidders.  They can know only whether the reserve has been met or not.

3. The seller is not obligated to sell the item if the reserve price is not met.

4. The winning bidder must meet or exceed the reserve price and have the highest bid.

5. When there is a reserve price, buyer has to bid as usual, entering the maximum amount they are willing to pay for the item.

6. Label next to the current price will show whether the reserve price has been met.

7. Once the reserve has been met, the item will sell to the highest bidder when the auction closes.

8. If the highest bid is below the reserve price at the time of  auction is closed, seller will have the option either to accept or reject the highest bid.

Tips for Stocklot Bidders/Stocklot Buyers

Before bidding or buying

Before you bid or buy, make sure you’re comfortable with the listing and the seller.

Evaluate the listing Review the shipping terms, refund and return policy, and other terms and conditions.
Know the item Confirm the authenticity of the item. If you have questions, use the Ask seller a question link in the listing. Use common sense.
Know the seller Check the seller’s Feedback Profile.
Review the seller’s current items to get an idea of this person’s areas of expertise.
If you’re unable to contact the seller, don’t bid on or buy the item.
Make sure your seller can communicate with you Update your contact information, including your email address, whenever it changes.

Tip: If the seller offers to sell you the item directly without bidding on and winning the item on Stocks2Bid.Com, please don’t respond. Instead, report it to us immediately.

Get to know your Seller

In addition to reviewing a member’s Feedback it is important to learn even more about your seller so you can make informed choices about your purchases:

  • View the sellers other items to assess the overall quality and type of items the seller trades.
  • Ask the seller a question to learn more about them and the item. Ask questions about the quality and condition of the item, shipping costs and accepted methods of payment.
  • Be wary of sellers who respond slowly or try to entice you to trade outside of Stocks2Bid.Com.

Before sending payment

If you are the winning bidder you automatically enter into a contract with the Seller and you are obligated to purchase and pay for the item.

  • But at the same time learn what you can do to protect yourself before sending payment to your seller. Learn as much as you can about your seller.
  • Contact the seller to arrange payment. If you have a problem communicating with the seller through email after you’ve won the item, you can request the seller’s contact information (including a phone number) by sending email to support@Stocks2Bid.Com.
  • Use safe payment methods like Letter of Credit.
  • Exercise caution with international transactions, as well as high-priced and popular items.
  • Don’t pay with cash or with instant money transfer services, such as Western Union.
  • Keep records of all purchases.

Resolving transaction problems

If you ever have a transaction problem, be sure to communicate with your seller. If you need assistance, Stocks2bid.com can help you resolve the problem.

Happy and safe trading!

Stocks2Bid.Com  provides a feedback system, trust & safety advice and openly available information and tools – it is important that you use all of this advice and the tools to make sensible trading choices. You need to use all of this information together.

  • To be protected by Stocks2Bid.Com ‘s safety it is essential you always complete your transaction on the site – do not trade outside of Stocks2Bid.Com with people you meet at Stocks2Bid.Com.
  • Be cautious of buyers who are not concerned with the cost, quality, delivery time of the product and don’t want to discuss more details about the product with you. Generally speaking, a serious buyer should be very concerned about such information.
  • Use safe payment methods while transacting on Stocks2Bid.Com.

Only use secure payment methods to protect yourself, such as L/C payment or a third-party payment service or an escrow service. Be cautious of companies from countries which are often targeted by scammers. We have received reports of fraudulent buyers who are mainly from Nigeria, Benin, and other African countries.

Look out for Fraudulent Cheques or Money Orders. If you receive a cheque or money order for an amount that exceeds the successful bid, and the buyer asks that you wire the excess funds back to him or to a third party, do not wire the money. Instead, return the cheque to the buyer, and do not ship the merchandise.

Be careful if buyers insist on paying by credit cards because they might be using stolen or invalid credit cards. If you choose to accept credit cards, contact the company that has issued the card to verify that the name on the card matches both the shipping information and the contact information you’ve received.

Request payment for a sample or at least for Courier/shipping costs before you send out the sample. This will show how serious the buyer is in your product.

What to do if something goes wrong

You should first contact you’re the Buyer and try to resolve the problem. Most buyers and sellers are honest and reliable, and often the cause is a simple misunderstanding or lack of communication. Complete contact information including buyer’s phone numbers will be provided by sending email to support@Stocks2Bid.Com.

Protect your online accounts

  • Select a secure password that is a combination of letters and numbers to protect your account information – never choose an obvious word such as ‘password’, your email address, your name, your family’s names or birth dates.
  • If you receive a request to update your personal information and you do not feel comfortable about the source of the email, do not click on links in the email – simply open a new browser, type Stocks2Bid.Com, sign-in and use the Site Map to navigate the site.
  • Watch out for “spoof” emails. A spoof email may appear as though it has come from a trusted company (including Stocks2Bid.Com) – if in doubt, do not click on links from such emails.
  • Exercise caution if an email requests personal information such as credit card details or passwords. In the same way that you never tell anyone, even the bank teller, your PIN number, you should always protect your private information, including passwords.
  • Regularly check your account and preferences to make sure there is no unauthorised activity.

Happy and safe trading!

Finding a Member’s Feedback

Feedback Score

Before you bid on an item please check the stocklot seller’s Feedback Profile to view their Feedback ratings and comments. Stocklot Sellers may also want to view a buyer’s Feedback Profile to see how reliable the stocklot buyer has been in the past.

To check the Feedback Profile for a particular member, click the Feedback Score next to the member’s User ID.

Usually, a high Feedback Score and percentage is a good sign, but reviewing the member’s Feedback Profile can give you a more complete picture of the member’s trading experience

FEEDBACK – HOW DOES IT WORK?

Whenever you buy or sell something, we ask you leave Feedback about the transaction that reflects your experience with the buyer or seller. At the same time, we ask your trading partner to leave Feedback about you as well.

Over time, members of the Stocks2Bid community develop a Feedback Profile, or reputation, based on the comments and ratings left by other members. The Feedback Score is one of the most important pieces of a Feedback Profile. It’s the number in brackets next to a member’s user ID and it’s also located at the top of the member’s Feedback Profile.

How are Feedback Scores calculated?

For each transaction, buyers and sellers can choose to rate each other by leaving Feedback. Buyers can leave a positive, negative, or a neutral rating, plus a short comment. Stocklot Sellers can leave a positive rating and a short comment.

These ratings are used to determine Feedback Scores. In most cases, members receive:

  • +1 point for each positive rating
  • No points for each neutral rating
  • -1 point for each negative rating

Why leave Feedback?

Leaving honest comments gives members a good idea of what to expect when dealing with other members. Leaving Feedback is also a way to increase the goodwill of the Stocks2Bid community by expressing your appreciation for a job well done. Finally, if you are a buyer, you can help spread the word about a seller you like, and if you are a seller, you can help recognize and reward loyal customers, which encourages them to buy from you again.

Should I leave neutral or negative Feedback for a seller?

Feedback comments become a permanent part of a seller’s record. If you are a buyer, contact your seller to try to resolve any issues before leaving neutral or negative Feedback. Please make sure that your comments are fair, based in fact, and relate to the specific transaction for which you received the Feedback request.

Points to remember

Only registered members can leave Feedback. Buyers must wait at least seven days before leaving a negative or neutral Feedback.

In some situations, we can remove Feedback.

When a member is suspended, Stocks2Bid.com will remove any neutral or negative Feedback left by that member.

A Novel Way to Buy & Sell Stocklots !

Thursday, July 29th, 2010 at 12:36 pm

Manufacturers of Apparels, Bed Sheets etc. sometimes get stuck with fully or semi finished goods  due to several reasons like over production, cancelled orders and dispute with buyers. Since these goods are already made they will not get original price and they have to sell below cost. Since manufacturers have to focus on their regular business, they need to dispose off this inventory at the highest possible price at the quickest possible time.

How do we address this situation? Idea to start Stocks2Bid.Com was born out of this question.

There are so many retailers, wholesalers, traders and agents all over the globe looking for such bargains.

Stocks2Bid.Com facilitates stocklot holders to sell their products to such buyers on an auction based business model.
